Global Lifting Group member meeting held in Sydney

The Global Lifting Group held its second member’s meeting for 2018 in Sydney on July 19th. The venue was the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park, in the centre of the CBD.

The meeting was highly anticipated with several exciting topics considered and discussed by the 10 member representatives present. Members from All-Rig, Stenhouse, Lifting Victoria, The Rigging Shed, Lifting Gear Hire & Sales, On Call Lifting, Hoisting Equipment Specialists, Schillings Hoisting Equipment and All-Ways Rigging travelled from all points of the country to ratify and welcome the group’s newest member, Colin Chapman and his business partner and son from Mr Lift It – Sydney.

Supplier presentations from LINQ Height Safety by Paramount Safety, The Crosby Group, Spanset and Maxirig were all extremely well received. The group was particularly excited to welcome another world class product offering to its growing stable of premium lifting products in the form of Modulift, a renowned UK manufacturer of modular spreader beams and lifting frames.

Thursday evening was our conference dinner, held atop Customs House at Café Sydney. The food and drink was amazing but the views were even better!

The day after the meeting saw several members shake off bleary eyes (and some sore heads) to make the trek out to Emu Plains for a factory tour at one our key preferred suppliers, Spanset Australia. Kristian, John and Aaron from Spanset were excellent hosts and the group appreciates the invitation and looks forward to doing even bigger and better things with Spanset in the future.

The date for our next conference is set to coincide with OSEA Oil and Gas Exhibition in November 2018 in Singapore. Judging by the enthusiasm among the members, we expect this to be well attended and probably for more reasons than the meetings!

All members left Sydney buoyed by the positive steps forward the group is taking collectively and as individual member companies with plenty more exciting developments soon to come to fruition… Stay tuned!
